Description
This Wolf Tooth compression plug provides the internal anchor needed to correctly preload the headset on bikes with carbon steerer tubes. It replaces a star nut, which should never be used in carbon steerers.
The included stem cap has an integrated 5mm spacer, which helps meet common fork manufacturer requirements where the steerer must extend slightly above the stem for proper clamping and load distribution.

Service / Ownership Context
Correct installation depth and torque are critical. The plug must sit below the top of the steerer so the stem can clamp properly without loading the cap. This is a common service item during new bike builds, fork replacements, or stem height adjustments, and it should be checked any time the cockpit is reconfigured.

• Good fit if you have a carbon fork with a 1 1/8″ steerer
• Good fit if your fork requires steerer extension above the stem
